The Role
- Monthly Management Accounts: Take full responsibility for the timely and accurate production of the monthly management information pack.
- Profitability and Variance Analysis: Perform deep-dive analysis into Work in Progress, project margins, and overhead variances to safeguard profitability.
- Commercial Support: Partner with the Board to transform management data into actionable growth strategies and optimised contract performance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and maintain robust, rolling cash flow forecasts to ensure business liquidity.
- Operational Liaison: Act as the primary financial link between the office and operational management, providing the insight needed to control costs on the ground.
- Systems Modernisation: Sharpen internal financial systems and strengthen management controls to future-proof the department.
The Person
- SME Expert: Proven experience in a Company Accountant or Management Accountant capacity, ideally within a project-led sector such as Manufacturing or Engineering.
- Excel Power-User: You do not just use spreadsheets; you build models that drive departmental efficiency and clear reporting.
- Effective Communicator: The ability to present clear financial performance reports to business owners and operational leads alike.
Qualifications Required
Qualified or QBE: ACCA/CIMA/ACA (Qualified or Finalist), or a seasoned Qualified by Experience professional with a rock-solid track record in a similar environment.
